Carlos Viñals

Carlos Viñals is an American perfumer of Cuban descent, known for his playful yet meticulous approach to fragrance creation. His journey into perfumery began in childhood, inspired by the scents his father brought home from work. Viñals started his career as a perfumer technician while in college, quickly advancing to train under a Master Perfumer. He has worked for several major fragrance companies, including IFF, Givaudan, Takasago, and Symrise, where he currently serves as VP Senior Perfumer. Viñals' style is characterized by his desire to evoke joy and memories through scent, often drawing inspiration from his Hispanic heritage. He is known for creating uplifting, energetic fragrances that bring people together. Notable creations include FR/2018 for A.N. Other, inspired by classic gin cocktails, and Opera Mate for Mind Games Fragrance. Viñals values creative freedom in his work and aims to create fragrances that elicit emotional responses and spark curiosity.
