
Dominique Ropion
Dominique Ropion, born in Paris in 1955, is a renowned French master perfumer. He trained at Roure Bertrand Dupont (now Givaudan) in Grasse before joining International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in 2000. Ropion's style is characterized by his versatility, precision, and ability to balance powerful ingredients with subtle accords. He draws inspiration from music and classic flowers, particularly jasmine, rose, and tuberose. Ropion has created iconic fragrances for brands such as Christian Dior, Thierry Mugler, Lancôme, and Frédéric Malle. His notable creations include Flowerbomb (2004), Alien (2005), La Vie Est Belle (2012), and Portrait of a Lady (2010). Ropion has received several awards, including the Cosmetique Magazine Oscar (2010), the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (2012), and the Prix François Coty (2008). He was named Master Perfumer in 2018.
