Francis Kurkdjian, born on May 14, 1969, in Paris, is a renowned French perfumer of Armenian descent. He gained international recognition at age 26 for creating Jean Paul Gaultier's 'Le Male' (1995), one of the world's best-selling men's fragrances. Kurkdjian co-founded Maison Francis Kurkdjian in 2009, which has become a prominent niche brand in the fragrance industry. His style blends tradition with modernity, often drawing inspiration from art, music, and nature. Kurkdjian's creations, including the cult favorite 'Baccarat Rouge 540' (2014), are known for their sophistication and innovative approach. He has received numerous accolades, including the Prix François Coty in 2001 for lifetime achievement. In 2021, Kurkdjian was appointed Creative Director of Perfume at Christian Dior, further cementing his status as a master perfumer.
