Patricia de Nicolaï

Patricia de Nicolaï is a renowned French perfumer born in Paris in 1957. As the great-granddaughter of Pierre Guerlain, she hails from the prestigious Guerlain perfume dynasty. After studying chemistry and perfumery at ISIPCA, de Nicolaï worked for Florasynth and Quest International before founding her own perfume house, Parfums de Nicolaï, in 1989 with her husband Jean-Louis Michau. She became the first woman to win the International Prize for Young Perfume Creators in 1988 and was awarded the French Legion of Honour in 2008. De Nicolaï's style is characterized by elegant, warm fragrances that blend traditional French perfumery with contemporary touches, often featuring notes like amber, vanilla, and patchouli[10]. Her perfume 'New York' is considered by some critics as one of the greatest fragrances in history. As president of the Osmothèque since 2008, de Nicolaï also plays a crucial role in preserving perfume heritage.
