# Prin Lomros: Thailand's Cinematic Perfumer

## From Film to Fragrance

Prin Lomros is a self-taught perfumer from southern Thailand who discovered his love for scent as a child, often wearing his mother's perfumes. With no universities in Thailand offering perfumery courses, he initially pursued his other passion, filmmaking, earning a degree in film. A visit to Grasse during the Cannes Film Festival proved transformative, as short perfumery courses there reignited his desire to create fragrances.

Returning to Thailand, Lomros joined The Perfumer's World in Bangkok to hone his craft before launching his own brands: Pryn Parfum, Strangers Parfumerie, and Parfum Prissana, later unified under the name PRIN. His artisan work earned him the Art and Olfaction Award from the Institute of Art and Olfaction in both 2017 and 2018, establishing him as one of Asia's most respected independent perfumers.

## Storytelling Through Scent and Zoologist Collaborations

Lomros approaches perfume creation the way a filmmaker constructs a scene: he begins by envisioning a moving image complete with colors, sounds, and textures, then interprets each element through notes and accords. His collaboration with Zoologist Perfumes has produced some of the brand's most acclaimed compositions. [Bat](/perfume/zoologist-bat) captures the nocturnal world of tropical fruit bats through a rich tapestry of overripe fruits, damp caves, and humid jungle air. [Civet](/perfume/zoologist-civet) is a bold animalic composition that evokes the wild musk of its namesake. [Hyrax](/perfume/zoologist-hyrax) explores the sun-baked African landscape through resinous, leathery accords, while [Rhinoceros](/perfume/zoologist-rhinoceros) channels raw power through smoky, earthy notes of [leather](/note/leather), [tobacco](/note/tobacco), and [oud](/note/oud).
